First, DOW Networks installs a Cisco IAD (Integrated Access Device) at the customer's site.
On outbound calls from your location, a call is generated from one of your phones through the PBX and handed off to the IAD. The IAD takes the voice signal and converts it into data packets which are then handed off to your hub and router.
The router then sends the data packets over your internet connection and through the public internet to the DOW Networks Gateway and Server. There the calls are converted back into voice signals and handed off to the PSTN (Public Switched Telephony Network) and routed to their international destination.
Each call requires 16k of internet bandwidth and the IAD on the customer's premise needs to have a public IP address assigned to it. Example: if you have a 16 port IAD, you will need to have 256k of internet bandwidth dedicated for your calls (16 calls X 16k = 256k).
DOW Networks can also provide toll-free numbers from all over the world for inbound calls to the customer's site. Please see your sales representative for more details. |
